PREPARING FOR PARENTHOOD
When I came across this article on Parent.co, I laughed, I cried, and I nodded...a LOT!
This really sums up motherhood for me, particularly the part about how you never really can be "ready" and how the day your child is born is the most exhausting (and exciting) day of your life!
And, "it will take you an extra 45 minutes to get out the door, no matter where you're going or how long you plan to be gone." This is SO. TRUE. It's one of the reasons that Mother Load came to be, as my husband and I were spending hours upon hours trying to pack up something as small as a diaper bag every time we wanted to leave the house. It felt like we were starting from scratch, and inevitably we would forget something - from a binky to a favorite toy, to a spare pair of clothes. If you've had a baby of your own, you know that can either lead to a complete meltdown or a complete disaster!
I've found that having this color-coded system is foolproof and has shortened our "get-ready-and-go" time considerably! With the see-through stretch mesh, we're also able to take a quick glance and make sure we have enough spare diapers and everything else we need before we leave the house! Plus, the bags have also helped my parents find everything when they're helping watch our little ones, now they can easily find extra wipes, toys, snacks, and more and feel confident when they go to the park or a restaurant.
I definitely wouldn't say our lives are chaos-free now, but at least Mother Load has made it "organized chaos."
